The balisong is a traditional Filipino folding knife, known around the world as the butterfly knife.

Its modern form is closely associated with Batangas, especially the historic town of Taal. In the barangays of Balisong and Pandayan, generations of craftspeople developed traditions of knife-making, metalworking, and precision craftsmanship.

A balisong represents more than a blade.
